What is VietAbroader? When and why was it formed?

VietAbroader is a non-profit, student-run organization. Our goal is to empower and inspire the Vietnamese youth worldwide to promote the sustainable development of Vietnam. The first thought about VietAbroader can be traced back as early as winter 2003. In February 2004, VietAbroader made its official launch as a student forum. Since then, the organization’s size and status has expanded and Vietabroader becomes the most reliable resource for studying abroad information.

VietAbroader performs under the New York State law. Board of Directors provide general guidelines and make important decisions; Executive Team is responsible for day-to-day administration and implementing projects. To best serve the organization, VietAbroader maintains a flat structure of a small leadership team and a tight-knit network of students and alumni around the world. Members are welcome to give comments on the forum or through email.

Who finances VietAbroader?

As a non-profit organization, our operating funds do not come from membership fees. VietAbroader and its projects are supported by corporate donors and leadership grants. For an exhaustive list of contributors and awarded grants, please visit our Partners & Sponsors page.

How can I get involved?

As our motto “Passing of the Torch” goes, we rely on volunteers for the implementation of our programs. High school and college students in Vietnam and the U.S. have provided us with great assistance in different stages of our projects. After their rewarding experience with VietAbroader, many of the volunteers decided to get more involved and commit to playing a bigger role in the organization.

You are welcome to visit our online forum and register as a member. Updates on projects are available on both our forum and website (under Volunteer Opportunities in Contact Us page). If interested, please feel free to contact our conference coordinators or sign up on our mailing list.
