VietAbroader is a student-run, nonprofit organization that provides Vietnamese students with training and guidance to encourage them to study abroad, primarily in the United States.
VietAbroader Study-Abroad Conference (VASAC), the flagship program of VietAbroader Organization, was initiated in 2005. The Conference includes a seminar in the morning, which provides attendees with general information on U.S. education, and a school fair in the afternoon, where students can ascertain school facts and scholarship programs through representatives of more than 100 top U.S. schools.
VASAC 2016 will continue the journey to help Vietnamese youth reach out to more opportunities with conferences taking place in many cities and provinces of Vietnam in 6 cities of Vietnam.
In Northern Vietnam:
In Southern Vietnam:
This year, in order to provide participants in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, two nationwide biggest pools of study-abroad enthusiasts, with similar benefits and information, the Conference’s content will be completely synchronized, placing the Agenda and format of each session in parallel.
VietAbroader Study-Abroad Conference 2016 will be held in 6 different cities and provinces, including Hanoi, Nghe An, Hai Phong, Ho Chi Minh City, Hue, and Da Nang. The Conference’s content in provinces will differ by regions and from that in Hanoi/Ho Chi Minh City in order to best accommodate the needs of local students.
This is the first time the contents of VASAC in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City are completely synchronized, hoping that the conferences can provide students with diverse perspectives into the application process and college life. The format of this year’s conferences in the morning program is largely based on the format of VASAC 2015 in Hanoi, with three parts : Application Process ( Talkshow & Workshop ), School Selection ( Debate ), and College Life ( Duo-presentations ). However besides the basic information, the content will touch on many controversial topics of the application process and personal experiences of Guest Speakers through many different forms of presenting. Realizing that the demand is high, in the afternoon program, VASAC 2016 will provide students with two brand new specified information sessions about Gap Year and Application Essays, under the form of discussion panels.
Main conference content:
1. Application Process
– Purposes: Provide students with information of application process so that students will know how to polish their application, avoid common mistakes and succeed
– Format: Discussion Leaders will discuss with participants through two sample applications. Two Guest Speakers will join a Talkshow to share their personal stories.
2. School Selection

– Format: 4 Guest Speakers will debate through a list of questions.
3. College Life
– Purposes: Participants could envision how US college life will be and prepare themselves for what’s waiting ahead in the upcoming 4 years of college.

– Format: 4 Guest Speakers will provide 2 duo-presentations.
This time in Hai Phong and Nghe An, VASAC will provide participants with detailed experiences and insights into specific aspects of the application process. Through many presentations, Guest Speakers will introduce the necessary steps to have a successful application profile. The presentations will focus on analyzing the basic information of different areas such as School Selection, Financial Aid, Gap Year or The Common Application, combining with personal perspectives of Guest Speakers. Keeping the spirit from last year, this year in each province Hai Phong and Nghe An VASAC will invite an inspirational speaker to share their stories with the audience, hoping that their unique insights can motivate the participants to follow the path that they’ve chosen.
Different from panel-and-workshop format of VASAC Hue – Da Nang 2015, 2016 Conferences in these cities will begin with an Inspirational Talk from one of our local Guest Speakers, who will share how she concurred the challenges during her study-abroad journey and the mindset she believes to benefit local students. The Conferences this year will be constructed by mostly presentations, which aim to provide participants with basic knowledge on the US application process, focusing on how to present one’s best self to the Admissions Officers. Besides, in order to acquaint students with this process, the contents will also touch on multiple aspects of studying abroad in the US, including School Selection, College Life, Financial Aid/Scholarship, and Gap Year.
