In order to pass on the proverbial torch of passion, knowledge, and skills to more generation of students, VASAC will take place in 7 cities and provinces of Vietnam in the Northern, the Central and Southern region of Vietnam.

Also, as the conference will be organized for the 10th time this year, VietAbroader Executive Board decides to change the format completely. The conference hopes to inspire success and achievements in Vietnamese students by creating a conference with multifaceted information and interesting format.

Northern and Central (Hanoi, Hai Phong, Nghe An)

This year, VASAC 15’ in Hanoi will provide not only basic information of American colleges but also multifaceted knowledge of college life, school selection, and application process. Therefore, the conference in Hanoi hopes to help students answer questions: “What is the most important thing during the application process? What is the impact the college education in America will have on you?” and to smooth the way for the students’ future success.

Main Conference’s Content
This year the conference in Hanoi will change the format totally. Instead of rotational rooms, the conference will consist of 3 parts: Application Process (Workshop), School Selection (Debate), and College Life (Presentation & Skit).

1. Application Process
– Purposes: Provide students with information of application process so that students will know how to polish their application and succeed
– Format: Discussion Leaders will discuss with participants through two sample application.
2. School Selection
– Purposes: Provide students with insights into the opportunities and disadvantages students may face while choosing a college. Therefore, the conference hopes to help students choose what college is right for them.
– Format: 4 Guest Speakers will debate through a list of questions.
3. College Life
– Purposes: Participants could envision how US college life will be and the differences in culture that needs preparing right in the application process
– Content: Academic Life and Social Life
– Format: Presentation & Skit with 4 Guest Speakers

Office Hour
In order to meet the needs of those who are interested in study abroad, the conference this year will open two office hours both in the morning and in the afternoon. With the participation of more than 40 students who have experienced the application process and college life in the Board of Counseling, Office Hours aim to answer questions from all parents and students.

Southern and Central (HCMC, Hue, Da Nang, Can Tho)

New format: This year, VASAC 15’ in HCM City, Southern and Central provinces will not make use of the room rotation model, but instead opting for new formats which will be more interactive and personal. We hope, through these new formats, we will be able to deliver a livelier, more diverse and captivating conference for our participants. Through our conference, the participants can have a great opportunity to learn what they can do and should do, network with their seniors and peers and set their paths on one destination.

Main Conference’s Content
1. Why US? and US Life
– Purpose: Provide participants with an overall view of the US education system and what they can expect from it.
– Format: Panel with Guest Speakers who are students in the US. Skit about life in college.
2. Application Process and Financial Aid
– Purpose: Provide students with information of application process as well as financial opportunities by U.S. universities.
– Format: A presentation.
3. Research Skills
– Purpose: Making participants aware of one of first steps they must make on their own, researching for school and for life.
– Format: Workshops in groups of 10 with a Discussion Leader.
4. How to prepare yourself?
– Purpose: Let students see how they portray themselves on the application can affect their chances and encourage them to invest in getting to know themselves.
– Format: Workshops in groups of 10 with a Discussion Leader.
5. Define Challenges
– Purpose: Inspire students with stories of Guest Speakers who have had difficulties applying for college in the U.S.
– Format: Panel with 4 Guest Speakers.

Office Hours:
