We empower Vietnamese youth.
We are offering a wide range of activities to all Vietnamese youth from 14-25 years old this summer! Our programs are organized by many experienced youth leaders, and there is something for everybody.
Wait for it, here comes THE BEST SUMMER EVER with VietAbroader!
VietAbroader Study-Abroad Conference (VASAC), which was first initiated in 2005, remains the flagship program of the VietAbroader Organization. The Conference is trademarked with the motto Passing of the Torch (Chuyền Đuốc), as previous generations of study-abroad students in the US pass on the proverbial torch of passion, knowledge and skills to the next generation, so as to inspire success and achievements in Vietnamese students.
VASAC is now the premier study-abroad conference entirely organized by and especially targeted to Vietnamese students. This year 2014 marks its much-awaited 9th return and our continuous effort to bring the most unbiased, accurate, and up-to-date study-abroad resources to our audience.
VietAbroader Study-Abroad Conference Day will take place on July 19, 2014 in Ho Chi Minh City and July 20, 2014 in Hanoi, with numerous preliminary events taking place before that. Stay tuned for updates!
Following the success in 2010, VietAbroader Career Conference 2014 (VACC 2014) will continue to focus on a wide range of internship and job opportunities in Vietnam. VACC 2014 will focus on Vietnamese career market, which will greatly benefit local students and overseas students who desire to contribute back to their mother country. VACC aims to become the most looking-forward event of the year for college undergraduates.
VACC’s mission is to assist Vietnamese college students (local and overseas) in their career orientation and job application. We aim to become the most trusted resource for our audience to reach their highest potential and achieve their dreams during their next biggest turning point in life – college graduation. Thereby, our conference aims to arm our ambitious audience with the necessary knowledge and skills to start a smart career and contribute to the sustained development of Vietnam.
VietAbroader Career Conference 2014 will take place on July 26, 2014 in Ho Chi Minh City.
VietAbroader Talk Day was first organized in July 6th, 2013 as an intimate talk show between experienced speakers who have “been there, done that”, and students who await a transparent, true story from the inside. VietAbroader Talk Day hopes to bring true stories of VietAbroader seniors to the audience in various topics and disciplines, so as to inspire and empower youths to think, reflect, and take actions in their life.
After the resounding success of Talk Day 2013 with the theme “Set Sail”, Talk Day 2014 returns with even a more ambitious vision. The event will tentatively take place in late July in Hanoi.
The VietAbroader community has always been a hub for talented, ambitious young minds who relentless reach out and reach up for higher goals. As such, we always strive to facilitate such networks between like-minded talents to connect and achieve success together.
Our past networking events include the Networking Galas in 2011 and before, VietAbroader Gala Night in 2012, the “You’re Only Freshmen Once” networking event in 2013, etc. This summer, we introduce yet many other networking opportunities for VietAbroader members and our extended circles. Stay tuned!
Youth Development Project Series is a program spearheaded by VietAbroader in the summer of 2014. This series consists of three projects:
- ILead Workshop Series is our newly launched leadership training workshops where we will be organizing several leadership panels, inviting different guest speakers, and putting together engaging and fun team work activities to empower Vietnamese youths with essential leadership traits and self-confidence.
- Students to Service is a new initiative this year to connect Vietnamese youths to student-run service organizations in Vietnam to encourage their pro-activism within the community while exposing them to more opportunities for self-development and hands-on leadership experience.
- VietAbroader Community Grant was first launched in 2013 and has since received massive responses. The goal of this project is to provide resources and support for projects initiated by students that serve good in the community in Vietnam.
First introduced in 2007, VApedia currently serves as an online information database that provides up-to-date, accurate, and unbiased resources on studying abroad in Vietnamese. Topics of our articles range from different school systems, the admission process to student life.
In 2014, VietAbroader celebrates its 10th anniversary, and in getting ready for this milestone, the team is working on improving both the content and presentation of VApedia. Our goals are multifold: to offer new information and various perspectives on our already existing themes, to extensively cover yet more topics, to refine the quality of our writings, and to enhance the design as well as the presentation of the website, all to serve our audience better. As such, we sincerely hope to transform the look of VApedia to meet the higher demands in studying abroad among Vietnamese students, and to bring on the legacy of “empowering Vietnamese youth.
The year of 2014 marks the ten-year anniversary of VietAbroader Organization. Within one decade of establishment and development, we have surely achieved many successes, but we will not stop. This is an opportunity to look back, reflect and push on to achieve higher goals, so as to live up to our highly upheld legacy: to Empower Vietnamese Youth.
Join us as we celebrate this monumental milestone!
Be a part of the VietAbroader family.
Together, we empower Vietnamese youth through various educational and professional programs, in order to contribute to the sustainable developments of Vietnam.
You belong with us.
By sharing their inspiring stories and invaluable advice about the admission process and ways to succeed in college, Vietnamese students in the United States have become the bridge between the two cultures and the inspiration for the future generation.
VietAbroader has equipped bright Vietnamese youths with necessary knowledge to connect with the gold-standard quality of the U.S. higher education in order to improve our understanding, grow our economy, and strengthen our relationship.
I remember in the early days when VA was an online forum with just a few hundred members. There are now over 65,000 members and VietAbroader is the premier Vietnamese student organization. It has, in nine short years, with the contributions of the co-founders and everyone who has followed in their footsteps, including all of you, become a brand in overseas study and, specifically, study in the USA. Thank you for your hard work, dedication and passion for giving back and making a difference in the lives of young people here.
What’s on the horizon for VietAbroader?
The most remarkable thing about VietAbroader is the sense of continuity fuelling the organization. Look no further than the people running VietAbroader today: bright, full of idealism, and passionately dedicated to the mission of realizing dreams, each and every one of these leaders were themselves success stories, dreams realized by the work of VietAbroaders before them. This sense of continuity, where each life changed goes on to change many others, ensure that VietAbroader expands continually in size and scope, and that the audience it empowers continually widens to include an increasing large section of Vietnamese youth, thus catalyzing the social change Vietnam needs and deserves.
One of the best things about being a Director of VA Club HCM is that I have chances to work with so many talented, passionate, and “crazy” people. Each member of VA Club has a different background and mindset, but they all put 110% effort in their work, and that really inspires me. From staying up all night brainstorming for public events, to spending hours counting the “likes” on our facebook posts, I have shared so many golden experiences during the time preparing for our PE “The 7th Art” in last April, and other events as well. My time with VietAbroader has yanked open my eyes and brought not only joy but also worthwhile visions and perspectives.
I am lucky to get to know about VietAbroader when I was only 12 years old. That was also the year the inaugural VietAbroader Study-Abroad Conference took place for the first time in Hanoi. As I follow its journey, the year of 2013 was the most memorable milestone for me when I served as the Study-Abroad Conference Chair in Ho Chi Minh City. I was no longer just a little girl passively listening to my seniors’ sharing, but then contributed an actual part in realizing VietAbroader’s mission of Empower Vietnamese Youth. It has been 10 years since VietAbroader was founded. It is my sincere belief that VietAbroader has been changing, is changing, and will be changing, not only in its flagship annual Study-Abroad Conference but also with other creative initiatives, so as to relentlessly serve the students of Vietnam in the years to come.
